C-series flat bed filter

C Series - Flat Bed Filter
Our C series flat bed gravity filters are used for the removal of solid particles as well as for removal of oils and chemicals.
The C series can be used in many different industries for the filtration of lubro coolants (emulsions) and water.
The filtration occurs through gravity and the used filtration medium is a woven or non-woven cloth.
The level of filtration depends on the filter cloth being used. For the filtration of oils and chemicals from water, we have a special line of non-woven filter cloth at our disposal, which are capable of absorbing these substances.
In comparison to deep bed filters, the C series flat bed filters are cheaper and suitable for lower dirt loads.
The required filter cloth  is determined by these specific facts: The dirt-load, the flow, the kind of liquid that has to be filtered and the material that has to be filtered out of the liquid.
All our gravity filters can be equipped with a magnetic separator. This is necessary for a system when the dirt-load consists of mostly ferrous particles. By using a magnetic separator, the consumption of filter cloth will be significantly lower.
For higher flows and dirt loads the C series flat bed filters can be stacked (multi level unit). The flow is then divided over the multiple C filters and the filtering surface is largely increased.
Liquid flows of up to 4500 litres/min (270 m3/h) can be treated with the C series filters.
The filters consist of a supporting structure and a liquid diffuser made from coated - or stainless steel.
The filter cloth is supported and moved forward by a metallic conveyor belt. This conveyor belt is supported by a motor- and a counter-shaft and is connected by two rings to two metallic meshes in order to support and tension the conveyor belt.
The conveyor belt and the filter cloth are driven by a motor that is controlled by a level sensor. When the level in the tank rises to high, because of the dirt-cake on the filter cloth, the sensor will trigger the motor to supply a new piece of cloth.
The motor creates the ideal speed for moving the used cloth into collection bin.
The C series filters operate fully automatic.
The liquid which has to be filtered arrives from the process through the use of re-circulation  pump and is led by the liquid diffuser on to the filter cloth.
The dirt that has to be filtered out of the liquid stays on the surface of the filter cloth or is absorbed in case of oils and chemicals.
Because of the‘cake’ formation (layer of dirt), the degree of filtration rises, but the permeability drops. The liquid level in the tank will rise and the sensor will trigger the motor to supply a new piece of filter cloth. Then the level in the tank will drop again and the sensor will stop the motor from supplying cloth. The used cloth will fall into the collection bin.
The filtered water goes into the clean liquid tank underneath the filter and flows back in to the process by means of a pump or gravity.
